Happy Tank Directions

Another week, another brand new FREE pattern for you! This time I’m celebrating the release of my friend Caroline’s gorgeous new fabric line, Happy Home! Happy Home is sweet and fun and cheerful and just perfect for your summer sewing projects! It comes in quilting cotton, voile, and best of all – KNIT! I thought the fabric was so fun it deserved its own pattern, so here’s the Happy Tank!
The Happy Tank is a cute summer racerback top featuring braided straps and a swingy a-line shape. It comes in sizes 2-14 and can be made in any knit, although I really can’t say enough about Art Gallery knits. They are a beautiful cotton/spandex blend that sew up so easily and are of course a thousand times better with Caroline’s prints on them 🙂
If you don’t have the pattern yet, grab it here, then come back and follow the directions below. It’s super easy to sew, but if you run into any problems or have a question, you can always join the Hey June Facebook group! There’s a bunch of us in there ready to offer support and we’d love to see your finished projects too!
And make sure you check out the rest of the projects made with Happy Home for the next couple weeks! So much inspiration coming your way, I can’t wait to see what everyone makes!
Happy Tank Sewing Directions
All seam allowances are 3/8″. Be sure to use a stretch stitch or serger to maintain stretch on all seams. The hem can be sewn with a single or double lengthened straight stitch, a double needle, or a coverhem machine.

July 13, 2015 at 9:12 pmI love this but where can I find art gallery knits you mentioned?

July 13, 2015 at 9:18 pmHey Taia,
You can find them at your local quilt stores or online at various sellers. I would visit Caroline’s site or the Art Gallery site to see if they list shops that carry the fabric, or just to find the names of your favorite prints so you can Google them or search on Etsy. It’s a new line with a bunch of hype so you won’t have any problem finding them online. Good luck!
