I’d like to introduce my next pattern to you, the Aurora Tee! In case you were wondering about the rapid (for me) succession of pattern releases, I was intending to do a mini collection with the Sloan Leggings, the Aurora Tee, and a jacket. Then I remembered that I have a 2 year old at home all day and those plans didn’t quite work out. But 66.6666666% ain’t bad. And the jacket is in the works to be completed hopefully by January. 31st. 2016.
So, the Aurora! The Aurora Tee is comfy and casual, with a flattering curved side seam and shirt hem. The body and dolman sleeves are slouchy, and the fitted lower sleeve gives it some shape and style.
View A is a plain tee, which is perfect for solid or patterned fabrics, or you can use a different fabric for the lower sleeve to give it some interest.
View B features fun little insets at the lower side hems so you can play around with pattern, color, and even texture.
This pattern comes in sizes XS – XXL, or bust sizes 32 – 42, with lots of garment ease. When you open the pattern with Adobe, you can select and print only your size and the pages you need.
My favorite thing about the Aurora is its versatility. You can make a cozy fleece lounge top, or a drapey metallic date-night top with the same pattern! Style it with pajama pants or skinny jeans and boots, a cup of tea or a cute clutch and heels. It would also be pretty rockin over a pair of Sloan Leggings, just saying. Lots of choices here! It’s especially good for looking cute while allowing a little extra width around the belly and hips, just in case anyone’s suffering from the same extra Thanksgiving/Birthday/Christmas lbs like me. It’s a rough time of year, folks, but those peppermint jo-jo’s aren’t going to eat themselves.
My gorgeous model here is the very talented Erin from Sewbon, whom you all know and love. I was so nervous to let her wear something I had sewn, but thankfully it didn’t disintegrate or spontaneously combust. Her amazing photographer is her sister Laura Murray. Laura does photography professionally in the Denver area, just in case you’re in the market! Check out her website, she’s ridiculously gifted and nationally recognized.
These are pictures that I forced my mom to do. I think she’s quite the natural! I didn’t even have to pretend I knew what she should do with her hands!
You can grab your copy of the Aurora Tee over in the Hey June shop now! I’m also giving away 3 free copies this week for Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!
