Thanks Adrianna! It’s on my list of things to make next week when we have a little staycation at home. By the way, your Tallinn has been the BEST jumper for me in my third pregnancy. I’ve made two in merino sweatshirting and they are awesome. Given this will be our last baby I’m totally digging non-maternity wear that functions well during pregnancy and the immediate postpartum stage. I’m looking forward to sewing up a Halifax for next New Zealand winter after our baby is born. Thanks again!

Yep, I would just close up the dart on the pattern piece before cutting the fabric. You may just need to alter the dart to make it smaller or higher, but I can almost always get away with no dart at all, especially when there’s plenty of ease.

When you say you’ll just close up the darts, will you take a wedge out of the pattern piece and close it before cutting or will you just smooth out the side seam?

I’m still working out the basic adjustments for my body.
